GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN. I've been noticeable absent from my blog, and I must apologize. This blog means a lot to me, because it's my outlet to be as creative, opinionated, and free, as I choose. I miss it, dearly. I have started interning at a magazine, and have been a little overwhelmed, but in the best way. I feel extremely confident, and hopeful for the coming year. Here is something to hold you over. I have always liked how Solange just does her own fucking thing. She takes risks, and 8 out of 10 times they really work. I dig it!

SPLASH. You have to have a certain sense of humour to understand and appreciate how funny this is! Thom McCann was "it" back in the day! I heart Jimmy.

COMPLICATED INDEED. Here's Fab in a shoot for Complex mag. Yes.

PURE, UNINHIBITED, DELIGHT. Images via Vogue China. I think.... Pretty sure. I love strong looks like this. You can zone in on the concept, without forgetting about how dope the clothes are.

CONJURING IDEAS. Ever dream up ideas, thoughts, inspirations? Of course you do why else would you be here?! Well currently I'm dreaming of these Jil Sanders pumps with some red silk high waisted shorts with a tie at the waist, and a lace bodysuit. I haven't found the shorts, and Ive re-worked this lace shrug into the look. Shrug via ASOS.

WHAT GOES AROUND. I have been really wanting to visit some second hand and consignment stores in the city. Much to my delight NY mag was doing a entire special on great finds from different ones throughout the city. HERE ARE MY PICKS. LOVE THEM.. OR LOVE THEM ALOT.
PUTTING MY FOOT DOWN. I usually don't try to dwell on anything negative or argumentative, but I'm a tad annoyed. Here I am a young passionate, insightful, dedicated lover of all things fashion struggling to stay a float in this industry, when what do I have to be faced with daily? The quickly approaching ridiculousness of celebrity lines. I mean really give me a fucking break! Miley Cyrus and Max Azria??? Hilary Duff??? I can agree with any one pursing their dreams and passions, but God usually gives one really good talent. If your an actor, singer, athlete, or a damn magician, then that's your direction. All it does is saturate the industry with less than honest true designers and make it diffucult for real artists to break in. There are some exceptions to this rule. i.e. Pharell's Billlionaire Boys Club, Gwen Stefani;s L.A.M.B, and even what Kanye has done with LV and Nike. It's genuine and reflects real views of the artist. Everyone else stick to what you know, because I know my jump shot needs work.

NECESSARY ACTIONS. I've been absent for a few days gathering my thoughts. Lots of thoughts. Deep life changing thoughts. I came to several conclusions, and they may seem unrelated to anything else ever posted here, but trust me they are more connected than they seem on the surface.

  • Doubt is the only true obstacle in front of any achievement.

  • The challenges you face in life, truly make up your character and make you unlike any else. No one can be you or do anything the way you do.

  • It's never enough to be privileged. Even a silver spoon tarnishes.

Accept that everyone has their own path, and yours may have lots more bumps. I'm moving forward, working and praying hard, and promising not to look back. *SIDE BAR* Thinking about getting a similar cut, any comments suggestions or opinions are appreciated, now and always. Kelis started it all, give this woman her respect please. Thanks!!!

CREME DE LA CREME. What is my problem with sequined, 70s glam, beautifulness right now you ask? I love it. I also adore unique accessories, updated classic looks, and clutches. Coincidentally I have some of it all for you.

FALL 2010 AND BEYOND. Keeping with the style emphasis of my blog, please stay tuned for more of me, styling, and FABULOUS editorials. There will be plenty. In addition if you love what you see, and frequent, follow this labor of love.

MIXED BAG. Ill keep it brief. Karl is humorous and one of the greastest. Cristobal Marambio really got my attention in this photograph. My kid is getting a chalk board tee. End of story.

PUBLIC SCHOOL SAMPLE SALE. GO, BUY, LOVE. JULY 28TH-31ST.

THROWBACK MEMORIES. I love a good heel. Everyone knows this is partially the purpose for my being. However once upon a time, I wore nothing but sneakers, and tight Levis. Awww, the good 'ole days. To this day, I am a sucker for a good sneak every now and again. Apparently Lil Wayne feels the same way. A German boutique, CVLII, customized a crystallized pair of SUPRA'S for his 26th b-day. Notice the satin laces. I love them actually, especially how there worn with army fatigue shorts. I think I might just have a thing for guys in kicks, and fatigue shorts, that don't match their outfits. I like.
* I almost forgot , I was the Air max '95 Queen!!! Who doesnt love a good throwback Penny?*

FIELD TRIP. My sis and I took a trip to the MET Museum today. It was fabulous! The Model to Muses exhibit was my main agenda but I was truly intrigued by everything I saw. I never thought I would have the opportunity to be within inches of a couture Dior gown from the 1950s. I cant say anything bad about the exhibit except it wasn't big enough!. My fave moments included a section with YSL, Versace from the 90s, and the Dior. I died, woke up and died again in there. There will be more sporadic pics from the museum here and there.

Top Shop
Top Shop

Genevieve Jones is
the highlight for me!

DAPPER AND DOPE. I just love when I see things styled complexly but still in a way that appeals to realistic dressing. I am going full force into layering in the Fall. Its not something that's easy to pull off, done right it shows depth and thought, done wrong your a damn hobo instantly! These are stamped STYLEORDYE APPROVED.
