PUTTING MY FOOT DOWN. I usually don't try to dwell on anything negative or argumentative, but I'm a tad annoyed. Here I am a young passionate, insightful, dedicated lover of all things fashion struggling to stay a float in this industry, when what do I have to be faced with daily? The quickly approaching ridiculousness of celebrity lines. I mean really give me a fucking break! Miley Cyrus and Max Azria??? Hilary Duff??? I can agree with any one pursing their dreams and passions, but God usually gives one really good talent. If your an actor, singer, athlete, or a damn magician, then that's your direction. All it does is saturate the industry with less than honest true designers and make it diffucult for real artists to break in. There are some exceptions to this rule. i.e. Pharell's Billlionaire Boys Club, Gwen Stefani;s L.A.M.B, and even what Kanye has done with LV and Nike. It's genuine and reflects real views of the artist. Everyone else stick to what you know, because I know my jump shot needs work.

NECESSARY ACTIONS. I've been absent for a few days gathering my thoughts. Lots of thoughts. Deep life changing thoughts. I came to several conclusions, and they may seem unrelated to anything else ever posted here, but trust me they are more connected than they seem on the surface.

Doubt is the only true obstacle in front of any achievement.

The challenges you face in life, truly make up your character and make you unlike any else. No one can be you or do anything the way you do.

It's never enough to be privileged. Even a silver spoon tarnishes.

Accept that everyone has their own path, and yours may have lots more bumps. I'm moving forward, working and praying hard, and promising not to look back. *SIDE BAR* Thinking about getting a similar cut, any comments suggestions or opinions are appreciated, now and always. THROWBACK MEMORIES. I love a good heel. Everyone knows this is partially the purpose for my being. However once upon a time, I wore nothing but sneakers, and tight Levis. Awww, the good 'ole days. To this day, I am a sucker for a good sneak every now and again. Apparently Lil Wayne feels the same way. A German boutique, CVLII, customized a crystallized pair of SUPRA'S for his 26th b-day. Notice the satin laces. I love them actually, especially how there worn with army fatigue shorts. I think I might just have a thing for guys in kicks, and fatigue shorts, that don't match their outfits. I like.

FIELD TRIP. My sis and I took a trip to the MET Museum today. It was fabulous! The Model to Muses exhibit was my main agenda but I was truly intrigued by everything I saw. I never thought I would have the opportunity to be within inches of a couture Dior gown from the 1950s. I cant say anything bad about the exhibit except it wasn't big enough!. My fave moments included a section with YSL, Versace from the 90s, and the Dior. I died, woke up and died again in there. There will be more sporadic pics from the museum here and there.

BREAK DOWN: BURBERRY. Though the color palette was very monochromatic, there was dept with the variation of textures. I loved how designer Christopher Bailey embodied the quintessential English girl. The boots were a excellent addition. I loved how they were paired with everything from pants, to more formal dresses, even though they were rugged.

LOUIS VUITTON. The rich gem tones. The stripper esque, victorian boots. The layers and textures. The bold accessories. The simply styled topknot hair. The peplums.

MARC JACOBS. There was a clear 80s influence, with a modern take. The details were interesting and subtle. ( The hanker chiefs around the neck coming through the slit neckline. )Always refreshing, Marc.

COVETING. I love the fantasy behind the couture shows. Fantasy isn't the right word..Imagination. It proposes you be in another place, time, even world, and challenges you to make sense of it. ( Or not). No rules. This collection is from ELIE SAAB, known for Halle's infamous Oscar dress. This collection makes me think of Edie Sedgwick getting married on planet Krypton. It had a mod feel with the hair and make-up, but the silhouette were that of the chicest wedding dresses ever. I have at least 10 ideas of a wedding dress now... I know there are alot of pics, but I adored these looks.

POSTING LIVE FROM THE E.R. I am usually pretty loyal to the designers that I know and love, mainly because they never cease to amaze me. ( i.e. Givenchy, Lanvin, Balenciaga..) However I am never opposed to a torrid affair with another fashion house that rips through town and steals my heart..( I wanted to be a writer at one point, and sometimes I go off track, my apologies;) Case in point, Fall 09 collection at Nina Ricci. I was was floored by the exuberance, the drama, and luxe feel of this collection. Every look said dark, demented glamour, in ways unseen before. Like a matured Wednesday Adams on her way to her prom and after party. Oliver Theyskens was saying one of two things: This is my last hooray, I'm going out with a bang! OR Kiss my grits! SIGHT SEEING. I took a much needed trip to Soho the other day, one of many stops that day. A random Tuesday is the best time to go shopping, and definitely the best time to avoid the chaos at Top shop. I purposely avoided going for weeks when it first opened because of the crowds. (Also because I am selfish and hate when things that are kind of secretive and exclusive become mainstream.) Anyway, I still was overwhelmed by the store merely because there was a whole lot to ingest, and I hope that doesn't end up working against them, in the effect that it intimidates people from shopping. I did get some really cool earrings though. I then proceeded to scoot on down to the BFF's job, ate, chatted. More shopping. I saw this really cool sculpture in the window display of the DIESEL STORE. That sparked something...I started paying unusually close attention to everything and everyone. Saw this really cool girl in the sale section of H&M. Her name is ISIS. What an eventful day... 6 hours late I had some stuff that made me happy. Some people work out I shop.

MY TRUE LOVE. This is what I wait for. Large, glamorous, events that encourage the envelope to be not only pushed open but split at the seams. Every piece that is set down the runway is not necessarily a wearable piece, but I truly admire the creative process. Well all of my fellow fashionistas are probably posting their favorite looks of the night, and I have to do the same, purely because I have a lot of opinion about most things. There were a few standout looks, but overall I was having an Oscar moment. Why? The gala was entitled " MODELS TO MUSES", crediting the beautiful canvas' that bring life to the designs, yet I felt there was a lack of drama. Please may I have...? I figured if I ask nicely I would be able to influence someone to get me anything from this glorious collection. Givenchy(and Lanvin) are hands down two of my favorite designers. They effortlessly turn out out smart, compelling, and completely wearable collections. Don't ponder the process too much, just enjoy the results.

Confuse me?? Okay, I have to speak on this subject because the general public seems to be confused. I have noticed several posts, magazine editorials, television segments etc, about fashion icons. When did Rihanna, Vanessa Hudgens, and Nicole Richie become icons??? Please understand something, I LOVE these three ladies, and believe they have done great things to Influence current fashion. However there are major differences between an influence and an icon. 1. You have to be alive for a certain amount of years to be considered iconic. 2. Being a stylist, I know that their is someone who plays a major part in creating an image that works for them... they are called stylists. 3. Fashion is a recycling bin. Have we forgotten people like Janet Jackson, Cyndi Lauper, and even Prince ever existed?

Until recently as I was flipping through several magazines( favorite past time) and came across their new spring ads. I heart them! They are full of color, life, and they just make you feel excited about spring time all over again. I liked them so much I decided to take a pic inspired by the new ads. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure they have something to do with a certain new creative director.

THANK YOU FOR BEING A FRIEND. I am obsessed with randomness quite easily. Currently it is the Golden Girls. I watch it religiously as if its 1988 all over. Not only do these ladies have me excited about my 60's, they looked pretty damn chic doing it. Dorothy, my personal fave, had that androgynous layered look down. It got me to thinking what she would wear today. After much scouring, I chose a look from Stella McCartney's Spring '09 collection. Cool shades, light fabrics that combat the Miami heat, and an uber cool blazer that was sooo Ms. Zbornak. ( Dorothy's last name.... I know, I know :0) Pictures- Style.com

I HEART..... Sick Shoes. No surprise I am a woman aren't I? This season it is the shoe game finals, I wanna make it to the play offs. Intricate designs, break your damn ankle but who cares because you look awesome heels, and a variety of colors. Rodarte(I heart those ladies also) employs the gifted Nicholas Kirkwood for some retarded looks. Balenciaga, Pierre Hardy,and Givenchy are just a few that are bringing back the importance of a great shoe. Now these are completely out of the price range for most, but sweet dreams are made of these. Styleordye rule#24(completely made that # up :0)When wearing a more detailed shoe, unless in a McQueen show, keep the outfit less complicated, not to compete with the shoe.
